Each semester, the museum welcomes a distinguished speaker for the “Lecture Series in Social Anthropology”. This autumn, we are delighted to host anthropologist Ellen Hertz, renowned feminist scholar whose research revives the forgotten notion of matrimoine and interrogates the enduring legacies of patriarchy. Her lecture invites us to reflect: What does it mean to “queer” heritage? Whose stories are celebrated, whose are silenced, and how might museums be reimagined to embrace more liberating relations to the past?
