Re-Encountering Kawésqar from Southern Chile

Sea nomads for over 6,000 years, Kawésqar have been exposed to colonization since the 19th century. In 2023, a Kawésqar delegation presented their history and culture at the museum under the title "Ko Aswál – The Next Day". A new initiative emerged then, which aims at healing the colonial trauma and creating educational materials for Zurich schools.
